The Allied Masonic Degrees is an invitational Masonic organization that offers several degrees, each of which, offer stand alone allegorical lessons. They are often referred to as “side” or detached degrees as they fall under Masonic jurisdiction but are not specifically attached to any current degree sequence such as the York Rite or Scottish Rite.
In addition to perpetuating these degrees, there is yet another and equally important purpose to the AMD. It is to bring small groups of Freemasons together who are interested in the advancement of all branches of Masonry, preparing themselves to better serve the Craft through the medium of study and research.
The Illuminati Council is dedicated to accomplishing these high ideals through two means: During the dinner (6:30 p.m.), Masons will have an opportunity to share their personal perspectives and experiences with each other in response to the evening’s pre-selected topic; experiences which have led them to a more positive and constructive life’s direction through active participation in the Fraternity. A different topic for discussion will be provided in advance of each meeting (given at the time reservations are made). By creating an environment at our meetings to foster growth from within ourselves (i.e. “illumination from within”), we will better serve the Craft by exhibiting conduct in accordance with the precepts expressed within all our Masonic degrees. Following the dinner, we will exemplify 1 or more of the AMD degrees.
If you are an Allied Masonic Degree Mason, we welcome you to our table. Reservations must be made at least 1 week in advance of the meeting date. Contact information is on the “Contact Us” page.
